Product Haul

This week I went shopping... A lot. I can claim it's all for the wedding so it's easy to get away with. Except my bank account is angry with me.

I have a couple favorite products I am SO happy I got, regardless of the fact I don't get Starbucks for months now.

The first one I love is Bare Minerals Night Transformation Treatment. I have tried this once before and loved it. But for $60 I just never got it again. Ohhhh but I did this week!!

It's a powder that you put on at night after you've done your nightly routine. It's the last step. You can get it in a sheer powder or tinted. I love the tinted one because you go to bed looking like you have foundation on and still wake up looking that pretty!! It doesn't rub off on your pillow... At all.

I think this comes in handy when you don't want people to see you without make up on. But instead of being bad for your skin, it's a treatment. It renews skin at night, helps with pores, acne, fine lines and wrinkles, anything. LOVE.

The second thing I got is also from Bare Minerals. It's their blemish therapy. I have been complaining about my skin going crazy lately and these two products alone have made me feel better about my wedding day coming up this weekend.

It's also a powder and it comes with a little brush. It's a treatment for acne, helping to get rid of any you may have, as well as preventing new ones from forming. It is also tinted and acts as a concealer. It sure has helped! This price point is cheaper, at $18.

My third and final fave new product this week is by L'oreal. It's a skin renewing oil/serum for your face. My mom has been using it for a couple months now and swears by it. So I decided to try it. It scared me to put an oil on my oily face but it's amazing! Just a few drops moisturizers your whole face, without clogging pores or making me break out. It soothes skin and is great or all skin types. It makes my skin feel as soft as a baby's bottom!

I have been so excited about these that I decided to share. If y'all try them, let me know what you think!  Any other good skin secrets?

I Have a Week Off!

So there is this BIG perk to being a teacher and it's called... TIME OFF! This is the first job I've had that I get weekends off, which is enough to excite me on its own. But then I ALSO get 2 weeks off at Christmas, a week off for Mid-Winter break (now), a week off in April and then the whole summer off!

So perhaps I will actually blog this week since I'll have more time.

I want to share this product I'm in love with. It's a leave-in conditioner of sorts called 12 Benefits. I read about it in beauty magazines saying it's the best and I agree! It literally has 12 benefits from using it:

1) Seals color
2) Smoothes frizz
3) Repairs damage
4) Prevents split ends
5) Moisturizes dry hair
6) Strengthens fragile hair
7) Prevents flat iron damage
8) Protects from chlorine, wind and sun damage
9) Adds shine, softness and silky finish
10) Protects from blow-drying
11) Improves texture and manageability
12) Anti-age formula keeps hair youthful

....so why would you NOT want this product?

Anyway, y'all should give it a whirl and let me know if there's something you use instead of this. I try new things all the time but I've been buying this repeatedly!

Lazy Weekend

This weekend was much needed!! I sat around all weekend with no plans doing whatever I wanted! I exercised a lot, finally, watched a lot of movies, watched a lot of Mad Men, and read on my Kindle. How relaxing is that?

I'm so excited I have tomorrow off of work... My students have been extra challenging this last week. I feel like I have to be so mean... It's surprising they still like me!

I am glad this week I have a Classroom Management seminar. I feel like I could use some advice.

Any teacher advice out there?
Hope everyone is having as relaxing of a weekend as me!

Cleansing Brush

I was so spoiled this Christmas with so many great gifts. Two of my all-time favorite gifts were a blue blazer (will post a pic later) and the Olay cleansing brush. I have always wanted to try the Clarisonic cleansing brush but they are so expensive. I just couldn't justify spending $200 for a brush without even knowing if it works or not.

SO... My mother did some research and found that yes, the Clarisonic was rated number one for cleansing brushes. But she picked me up the second on the list, which is from Olay. I saw it at Target for only $32.99 which is WAY cheaper.

After only two days of using the Olay brush, my skin cleared up! I don't get a ton of zits or break out badly like I used to in high school (thank goodness) but I do still have oily skin and the occasional break out. I also have really dry skin around my nose.

With this brush, I just use my normal face wash (Proactiv) and my skin is so much better since using it! I am sold! It cleanses better than without using a brush and it exfoliates leaving your skin feeling so clean!

So I am sure the Clarisonic works wonders as well if the cheaper #2 version even does. But I'd say save your $ and go to Target.

I am on break from work ( perks of being a teacher) and it's starting to wind down!! Ugh... I really don't wanna go back after such a relaxing break!! Tomorrow is supposed to be girl's day with Mia and I since Derek will be at the Seahawks game. She wants to go see Monsters, Inc. in 3D... sounds good to me :)

Derek and I are about to watch Taken 2 and cuddle up on the couch. We've had an awesome week together... love that man. Goodnight!
